Mountaineers get new home at Grand Ave Park

The Mimico Minor Lacrosse Club is excited to share that our field programs will have a brand new home in 2023.

In 2015, Mimico Lacrosse petitioned the City of Toronto for a sports field so our Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League (OMFLL) and Ontario Women’s Field Lacrosse (OWFL) teams could practice and play in the Mimico community.

When Councillor Mark Grimes learned the city planned to sell off surplus land at Grand Avenue and Manitoba Street to a developer—he worked hard to have the city retain the land and bring the new field to Grand Ave Park.

The new home of the Mountaineers is the only City of Toronto field permanently lined for men’s and women’s field lacrosse— and it’s located just 4 minutes from Mimico Arena!
