Jaedyn Smail

Queen’s University

Jaedyn Smail is a Bio-Mechanical Engineering student at Queen's University. She was named Ontario University Athletics Offensive MVP and Athlete-of-the-Week for her role in helping the Queen's University Gaels capture the 2022 OUA Championship. 

 

Smail began the OUA championship with a strong showing in Queen’s two round robin tilts, collecting six goals and two assists to help her team take the top seed into the semifinal matchup. In the semi-final game against Guelph, Smail was once again a focal point on offence, collecting a hat trick and an assist as part of the Gaels’ 10-2 win. Even with these impressive performances in tow, she saved her best for last. Smail was instrumental in Queen’s gold medal rematch against Trent University and 16-5 championship win thanks to her seven points, including a remarkable six goals for the Gaels.

 

In addition to her athletic achievements, Jaedyn is also a Queen's Athlete Academic All-star as well as Dean's Scholar (awarded to students who maintained a 3.5+ GPA across a full academic year). A Level 2 certified official with Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse, Smail was invited to participate as an on-field official at the 2022 Summer Games and the 2022 National Championships in Alberta. 

 

Smail started playing lacrosse in 2010 and was a member of Mimico’s first-ever women’s field lacrosse team. A multi-sport athlete, Smail also grew up playing hockey.
